Save when you buy the entire collection

The entire Leopard Print Collection is available for purchase in bundles on Ravelry and Ribblr. Buying the entire bundle is cheaper than buying each pattern individually. If you love this scrunchy pattern, then you'll love the entire collection.

Stranded colorwork knitting patterns are some of my favorite patterns to create. I love the endless possibilities of stranded knitting. Stranded knitting is also sometimes called fair isle knitting. The entire leopard print collection is one of my favorite Fair Isle pattern collections that I have created so far. I love the neutral tones of the black against the tan, but it still adds such a fun pop of print to any outfit. You can customize the colors of the scrunchy to create a custom design to fit your style.

Leopard Print Scrunchy - Free Knitting Pattern

Follow the step-by-step colorwork knitting pattern to create your very own leopard print knit scrunchy.

Tips

Use either of the attached charts to complete this project.

Keep tension consistent and not too tight.

Manage floats to help keep tension loose.

Materials

Any worsted weight yarn in tan and black. I used Caron simply soft in Black and Bone.

Black (approx. 30 yards / 14 grams)

Bone (approx. 55 yards / 28 grams)

US 9 / 5.5 mm circular needles

Tapestry needle for sewing

Elastic hair tie

Instructions

1) Cast on 88 stitches using tan yarn

2) Join in the round.

3) Round 1-25: Follow leopard print chart

4) Bind off using tan yarn

5) Leave a long tail for sewing

6) With the wrong side facing out, wrap the hair tie around the work so that the open ends are at the top and bottom (see image below).

7) Fold the work around the hair tie so that the right side is facing out and the outside edges are lined up (see image below).

8) Sew the edges together and weave in the remaining yarn (see image below).

Leopard Print Colorwork Charts

Use either of the charts below to complete the pattern.

I recommend using the repeat chart because it is easier to see, but you can also use the larger chart if it works better for you.

Repeat Chart

This chart is designed to be knit in the round using two strands of yarn at the same time.

Cast on 88 stitches using tan yarn and join in the round.

Repeat columns 1-22 four times each round to equal the 88-stitch cast-on length.

Continue working in rounds following the chart through row 25. Each row marks the beginning of a new round
